Talonda Rogers
Founder and CEO

Talonda is a dedicated, focused, and detail-oriented nursing professional with a career spanning 16 years in clinical practice and education. Her journey began as a student in the program she now leads as Director. After becoming an LPN in 2009 and an RN in 2013, Talonda earned her MSN in 2018, returning to her alma mater as a faculty member in 2019. Driven by her passion to address the nursing and nursing instructor shortage, she finds joy in teaching the world's future nurses and was appointed Director of the nursing program in 2025.

During the 2020 pandemic, Talonda authored her first book, "Nursing School: What I Learned May Make Your Life Easier." dedicating it to her nursing students. The book became an Amazon Best Seller and continues to guide aspiring nurses through their educational journey.

Beyond her academic contributions, Talonda founded 4th Trimester MOMMIE to address the critical gap in postpartum care. Recognizing that new mothers receive insufficient support during the crucial first months after giving birth—the "4th Trimester"—she created this organization to provide much-needed resources and advocacy for maternal health.

The Story Behind the Brand

Twenty-five years ago, Talonda experienced a profound loss that would forever shape her life's purpose. During her pregnancy, she noticed concerning symptoms—blurred vision, excessive thirst, and decreased fetal movement—and diligently reported them to her doctor. Despite her advocacy, her worries were dismissed. Tragically, this medical negligence resulted in the stillbirth of her son, Brandon.

This heartbreaking experience became the catalyst for Talonda's career in nursing. Fueled by the stark reality of disproportionately high mortality rates among Black women during childbirth, she committed herself to creating meaningful change. Today, she leverages her unique perspective—both as a patient who experienced loss and as a healthcare professional—to advocate for better maternal care and ensure other women's voices are heard when they speak up about their health concerns.

Our Mission

To educate, empower, and be a voice for women. To advocate for positive and optimal health outcomes during and after pregnancy, and after pregnancy or infant loss. Through research, programs, and direct support, we will elevate the awareness of complications impacting historically vulnerable communities and work to change the narrative and ensure the best care possible for all women and their families.

Our Vision

Through continuous education, advocacy, and care, no mother will die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth.
