Talonda Rogers
Founder and CEO
Founder and CEO
A dedicated, focused, and detail-oriented nurse of 15 years and nurse instructor of the last five (5) years with the very same program that began her career. She decided to pursue a career in nursing education in response to the nursing and nursing instructor shortage. Talonda finds joy in teaching the world's future nurses.
During the 2020 Pandemic, Talonda wrote her first book, dedicating it to her nursing students called, Nursing School. What I Learned May Make Your Life Easier. It became an Amazon Best Seller.
Talonda founded the 4th Trimester MOMMIE as a way of filling the gap that exists with postpartum care. Currently, there is not enough care for the mom once she is home with her baby in the first critical months after giving birth, the 4th Trimester.
The Story Behind the Brand
Twenty-four years ago, Talonda experienced the loss of her son due to medical negligence during pregnancy. Talonda expressed her worries to her doctor about symptoms like blurred vision, excessive thirst, and decreased fetal movement; sadly, her concerns were dismissed. Tragically, her son, Brandon, was stillborn. This traumatic event led her to pursue a career in nursing. Motivated by the high mortality rates of Black women in childbirth, she advocates for change using her personal experience as a patient and a nurse to make a difference.
Our Mission
To educate, empower, and be a voice for women. To advocate for positive and optimal health outcomes during and after pregnancy, and after pregnancy or infant loss. Through research, programs, and direct support, we will elevate the awareness of complications impacting historically vulnerable communities and work to change the narrative and ensure the best care possible for all women and their families.
Our Vision
Through continuous education, advocacy, and care, no mother will die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth.
